PAOLA LENTI Arnò

During Milan Design Week 2025, Bertrand Lejoly introduced his latest design for Paola Lenti: Arnò, a low, generously proportioned indoor sofa focused on supreme comfort.

"The idea of a basket holding soft cushions was our starting point," says Bertrand Lejoly. "We wanted to design a sofa that feels effortlessly comfortable, yet remains precise and refined. That balance between structure and softness runs through the entire piece."

From the beginning, we focused on the relationship between structure and softness, drawing inspiration from woven straw baskets. The idea of a basket holding plush cushions became our guiding principle, leading us to work with a knitted textile that wraps around a frame, much like a woven sock.

Paola Lenti developed an innovative fabric specifically for this project, and the use of this advanced material is one of the aspects that makes Arnó unique. It reflects a deep understanding of textiles and a strong commitment to innovation – the core of Paola Lenti – , while also achieving a natural dialogue between material and form.

We intentionally kept the sofa low to the ground, reinforcing its contemporary character while eliminating the need for legs. This choice directs the focus to the details in the backrest and armrest, where the woven fabric creates a rich tactile and visual experience.

The generous cushions, made from multiple layers of foam, add volume and enhance the softness of the design.
